In the week of 18 April 2021 we pray for diocesan bishop The Most Rev. Anne Germond, Archbishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Algoma.

In the ACC/ELCIC Cycle of Prayer, we also pray this week for The Right of Indigenous Peoples to Free, Prior and Informed Consent and a renewed commitment to responsible resource extraction. More about FPIC from Kairos Canada here and from the UN here.

"Founded in 1873, the Diocese of Algoma covers an area of 70,000 square miles of northern Ontario and includes Thunder Bay, Gravenhurst, Manitoulin Island and New Liskeard." There are about 30,000 members in 70 parishes throughout the diocese. [source] List of parishes
