St Dunstan's services will be outdoors for as long as the weather permits, but we are preparing for indoor services and visitors to the building. Here is a first look at some of the new arrangements in place for all visitors to the building, in accordance with BC public health and diocesan guidelines and regulations.

There are signs and directions everywhere. It's a lot to process when you enter the building. Take time and give space.

*Photos show work in progress and will be updated.

At the front door:

  • Sick? Self-isolating? Don't come in.
  • Sign in and sign out every time you are in the building, no matter what for or for how short a time.
  • Maintain 2m distance at all times.
  • Be aware of room occupancy maximums, posted in every space.

In the narthex:

Maximum occupancy: 4

Green tape floor marks show 2m distances. If you can leave more than 2m between you and others, do.

Sign in and out in the red folder. Use your own pen; if using pencils provided, treat them as 'contaminated'.

Sanitize or wash your hands. Use the upstairs washroom.

Event or group leaders, sign in the red folder yourself, noting your group/event name. Keep your own list of all attendees/participants. Use the form provided if you don't have one with you. It is your responsibility to provide your contact information, collect all participant contact information, keep it for 30 days, and then destroy it.

Nave:

Enter the church through the west (rear) door from the narthex only. We are required to operate a one-way entry-exit system.

Room occupancy: max 40 individuals from max 16 households/bubbles. As with outdoor services, a steward will tell you where to sit. Be sure to maintain 2m distance at all times when going to your seat.

Seats are roped off to create 2m between them.

Seats are indicated by bright green signs.

Exit by the northeast (front left) fire door only.

The blue tape shows which seats are available. It must be left in place.

Some seating positions accommodate 2 individuals, some 3. Larger bubbles will need to use more than one seating area.

Ramp/vestry/washroom

Space occupancy: 2 total max.

The ramp, vestry and washroom are the highest-traffic and the narrowest parts of the space. The maximum occupancy is very small because it is a traffic pinch point. Please be extra aware of space and other users here.

See here for notes about using the washroom.

We are not using the newly relocated door at the moment, to decrease traffic in this narrow area and because distancing isn't possible on the nave side of it.

Office

Room occupancy: 1 visitor max

If you are visiting the office, knock or say hello before entering. There isn't much space for manoeuvre, and we want to be sure we can give you 2m of distance.

On entering the office, staying behind the green line on the floor will keep you 2m from staff at either desk.

Staff will be wearing masks during your visit. Windows will be open as much as possible.

The area on the visitors' side of the green line includes the photocopier and the exit.

Please leave the office by the door to the sanctuary only. This will help to prevent close encounters in the narrow vestry/ramp area.

If you are the only visitor in the building, please practise the one-way system anyway. It will help us all to learn.

Exit the office into the sanctuary, and exit the building via the fire doors nearest the pulpit.
